Reaching over 40 schools and 12,000 kids per year. The Symphony’s efforts towards music education helps keep the arts alive in the school systems, the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra offers several key outreach programs.
"Our education and community-wide outreach programs allow us the opportunity to take live music to the people and share it in a very special way within our community. Through these programs, the SCSO remains committed to the vital role we play in civic and community life. There is no question that the value of our community partnerships is priceless."
-RYAN HASKINS, MUSIC DIRECTOR
The Sioux City Symphony Orchestra joins with Carnegie Hall to present this innovative programming in music education. Students in grades 3 to 5 are given the opportunity to join the orchestra in this highly participatory program, in which they learn to sing and play an instrument in the classroom and perform with the SCSO from their seats in a culminating concert at the Orpheum Theatre.
