Anthony Chau

VIOLIN

Anthony Chau is a Kansas native who began learning the violin at age nine. He earned his Music Business and Violin Performance degrees from Friends University under the violin instruction of Valerie Sullivan. Thereafter, he obtained his Master of Music in Violin Performance from the University of New Mexico, studying under Dr. Carmelo de los Santos. He performed in master classes with Peter Sheppard Skaerved, Gil Shaham, and Stephen Clapp.

Anthony has performed with some of the top orchestras in the Southwest including Santa Fe Pro Musica, New Mexico Philharmonic, Santa Fe Symphony, San Juan Symphony, Roswell Symphony, Opera Southwest, QTango, and many others. In addition to performing, he taught violin for 14 years and served as the Strings Department Chair at the New Mexico School of Music in Albuquerque for 3 years.

Today he performs with the Omaha Symphony, Des Moines Symphony Orchestra, Sioux City Symphony, South Dakota Symphony, Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, Helena Symphony, and Bozeman Symphony. He is a co-founder of Ruckus Strings and holds Artist-in-Residence at the 402 Arts Collective, playing at various events in the Omaha Metro area.
