Violist Fei Chen was born in Tianjin, China and is the current Principal Viola of the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra. He holds a Master Degree in Performance on Viola from Universite de Montreal and also attended McGill University and Beijing Conservatory of Music. His principal teachers include Zhenshan Wang and Keqiang Shui, both in China, and Eleonora Turovsky from UdeM and Neal Gripp from McGill University. He has participated in several summer music festivals like Aspen, National Arts Center of Canada Young Artist's Program led by Pinchas Zukerman , Orford, and Summer Music Festival of Miami. He is an active musician around the region as he also performs with the Lincoln Symphony and Omaha Symphony among others.
