Jeanne Ekholm is a classical harpist with a passion for orchestral and chamber playing.
Jeanne holds the position of 2nd harpist with the Sioux City Symphony. A native of Sioux Falls, SD, she first played with the Symphony when she was in high school under the baton of Leo Kucinski. She returned to play with them beginning in 2007 before being appointed to her current position.
Happiest playing music with others, Jeanne is also Principal Harp with the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, a position she has held since 2004. While living in the Minneapolis area, she has played with The St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Minnesota Opera, Guthrie Theatre, Chanhassen Dinner Theater, Minneapolis Children’s Theater, Bloomington Symphony Orchestra, Bloomington Civic Theater/Artistry, Mississippi Valley Orchestra, and Duluth Symphony Orchestra among others. In addition, she taught harp at MacPhail Center for Music and teaches privately.
