Award-winning flutist Karen Baumgartner has given many solo performances including a sold out performance at Carnegie Hall at which she was awarded a $10,000 Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award. Karen has performed on National Public Radio on their program From the Top and has also been featured numerous times on Minnesota Public Radio. Karen is based in the Twin Cities and in addition to holding the Second Flute position with Sioux City Symphony Orchestra she plays with groups such as Minnesota Orchestra, Minnesota Opera, South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, and is also a part of Minnesota Public Radio’s Class Notes program with her chamber groups e(L)ement and Wood N’ Wind.
