Katie Wychulis

HARP

Katie Wychulis, principal harp of the Lincoln Symphony, Boulder Philharmonic, and Sioux City Symphony, is a native of Omaha, Nebraska. She graduated cum laude from the Cleveland Institute of Music, studying with Alice Chalifoux and Yolanda Kondonassis, and received her Master of Music degree from Rice University as a student of Paula Page. A Fulbright grant recipient in 2001, Katie traveled to Australia where she studied with Alice Giles at the Australian National University in Canberra.

Performance highlights include concertos with the Omaha Symphony, Lincoln Symphony, Sioux City Symphony, Orchestra Iowa, Houston Chamber Players, Woodstock Chamber Orchestra, Minot Symphony, and the University of Nebraska-Omaha Chamber Orchestra. In addition to her solo appearances, Katie has appeared as guest harpist with the St. Louis Symphony, Kansas City Symphony, Omaha Symphony,  Colorado Music Festival, Britt Festival Orchestra, Canberra Symphony Orchestra, National Repertory Orchestra, Fort Wayne Symphony, and Youngstown Symphony. She has been an active chamber musician with such groups as the Omaha Chamber Music Society, Third Chair Chamber Players, Music in the Mountains concert series, and Analog Arts Ensemble.

An active supporter of arts non-profits, Katie serves on the board of the Omaha Chamber Music Society and the Great Plains Harp Chapter and Third Chair Chamber Players. She currently resides in Omaha with her husband and three daughters.
