ShengHo “Ken” Wang

ShengHo Wang has been a graduate assistant at the University of Iowa since January 2021 and has served as concertmaster of the University of Iowa Symphony since January 2022. He has taught violin lessons for Non-Major classes, as needed, since January 2020. His teaching experience includes a five-student private studio in Non-Major every semester assignment and leading sectionals for the University of Iowa Symphony. During this time, Wang has had several solo recitals during his Doctoral Program. He also played concerts with Quad City Symphony, Omaha Symphony, Des Moines Symphony, and Ottumwa Symphony.

Wang graduated in 2020 from the University of South Dakota with a master's degree in Violin Performance where he studied with Dr. Ioana Galu. During his time at the university, Wang participated in many concerts including playing with South Dakota Symphony and Sioux City Symphony. In April 2018, Wang was featured as a soloist with the University of South Dakota Symphony with the Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto as one of the winners of the USD Concerto Competition. Wang’s future plans include participation in American music camps, a tour in California, and auditioning for professional orchestras.
