Originally from Springfield, SD, Trudy Timblin studied trombone with Dr. Larry Mitchell at the University of South Dakota. She graduated with a degree in music education and went on to teach instrumental music in northwest Iowa and southeast South Dakota for five years. Trudy began playing with the Sioux City Symphony as a substitute bass trombonist in 2001 and continued in that role for many years, becoming a full-time member in 2020. She has been an active musician in the Siouxland region during this time, playing with ensembles including the South Dakota Symphony, Sioux City Municipal Band, LeMars Municipal Band, Yankton Area Summer Band, and the Cherokee Symphony, among others. Additionally, Trudy has been an assistant for the LeMars Community Schools Big Red Marching Band since 2022. Outside of music, Trudy works as an accountant and lives in Sioux City with her children, Jonah and Addison, and their two cats, Midnight and Beauty.
